About Carmabe

Carmabe is a family owned and managed company dedicated to grow, process and commercialize rice products since 1972.

We are committed to produce great tasting and high quality rice altogether with Nature. Using crop-rotation and daily care systems, we assist Nature to replenish itself and provide natural fertile land for the seeds.

We are located in San Salvador - Entre Rios, where the environment has the most optimal conditions to grow a healthy and pure grain. That is why San Salvador is known as the National Rice Capital in Argentina.

We have certified part of our lands and processing plant to expand our company to the Organic market. We offer premium organic long grain rice, organic short grain rice, organic rice flour and specialty rice. We are excited to produce a purer version of our already healthy grains.

History

It all started when...

History

It all started when...

Pedro Suen (founder) became part of the industry offering rice-packing services which evolved into a rice producing company in 1972. In the late 80’s, the company expanded to export its products to several countries in South America. By the year 2000, the second generation of the family, developed a national distribution network focused to the retail market in Argentina; the brand CARMABE started to be displayed in several supermarkets. The company also expanded to offer private label services to supermarkets and distributors within the country and abroad.

Carmabe is now ready for a new growth stage, offering organic rice products globally.

Our Farm

Our Rice Farm is located in San Salvador, mecca of the rice in Argentina, where the microclimate created in the area provides a thermal amplitude that helps the plant reach its optimal development. The water used in the rice fields comes from the Guaraní aquifer, one of the world’s largest aquifer systems and an important source of fresh drinking water. The fertile land, rich in nutrients, is complemented with a crop-rotating system which helps its replenishment and conservation. The daily dedication of our team supervising the proper water levels and plants’ health, contributes to the growth of a healthy and strong crop. When the harvest is over, we clean and store the best seeds in sealed airtight containers to be used in the next growing season.

All of the processes combined, while working in conjunction with Nature, and respecting its bio-diversity, help us bring to the public a pure, healthy, high quality organic rice.

Our Rice Mill

After harvesting, the paddy rice is taken to the processing plant where it goes through a multifaceted process including drying, milling, packaging and storing to keep its high quality and marketability. Drying is the process that reduces grain moisture content to a safe level for storage; it is the most important process after harvesting. Milling is the process used to remove the husk and bran layers from the rice kernel. We work with Bühler Sortex machines to provide the highest quality end product. We offer various packaging options, such as vacuum tote big bags, bulk containers and PP Bags.

Our lab team is permanently monitoring the whole milling process to ensure the greatest quality of our rice.
